Influence of Wim Hof ​​method on freediver performance

Title: Influence of Wim Hof method on freediver performance Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to find out whether Wim Hof's method (WHM) can demonstrably improve the performance of a freediver and whether, as an added component of regeneration in his training unit, it can demonstrably contribute to the improvement of selected physiological parameters, compared to a group practicing Pranayama in combination with cold exposure and meditation and a control group without intervention. Another goal is to compare the results obtained in the individual groups for a period of two and four weeks of measurement and thus objectify the effect of the selected intervention. Methods: As part of the issue of improving the athlete's performance, selected physiological parameters of individuals engaged in freediving on the breath were observed. For the implementation, the WHM was used, which uses the connection of psychological and physical resistance to stress factors. A total of 32 healthy male subjects in the age range of 32-61 years participated in the study, who were randomly divided by lot into 3 as closely as possible groups of 10-11 members each for WHM or Pranayama training, or into a control group. Prenatal yoga and childbirth

The purpose of the bachelor thesis entitled "Gravid Yoga and Childbirth." is to evaluate the benefits of gravid yoga on the course of pregnancy and childbirth. The thesis has a theoretical part where I first discuss the physical activity as such and why it is important for us. We will talk about yoga as a whole. I also mention the different styles of yoga and what is characteristic for them, as the research part deals with the styles of yoga in women practitioners. I then discuss trimester by trimester with individual recommendations and contraindications within pregnancy. I also discuss basic breathing and relaxation techniques that can be beneficial in preparation for birth as well as in the birth itself. The research portion then focuses directly on an anonymous questionnaire where I collect data from 103 women practicing gravid yoga. For my research, I set myself a total of 5 objectives, namely to find out whether pregnant women think yoga has an impact on their fitness during pregnancy and on the course of labour. Also to find out whether women think yoga has an effect on back and lower back pain. The third aim is to find out how many women practiced yoga before pregnancy. Yoga and its possibilities in physiotherapy, its impact on the length of the spine

The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of yoga, its possibilities in physiotherapy and its influence to a spine. Nowadays, yoga is a very popular activity that influence physical and psychological condition of people. In some case, it can help remove the pain. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the first one, the anatomy of the spine and the chest is described as well as their particular articulation, muscles and functions. Then, one chapter is focused only on breathing followed by longer chapter describing yoga, its importance, history, and types and explaining main keywords: ásana (position) and pránájáma (breathing exercise). This chapter contains two smaller chapters about the influence of yoga to a spine and its benefits in physiotherapy. The method of qualitative research was used in the practical part. Three women practicing the exercises were part of the research. It lasted two months. At first of all, they needed to have a medical examination and then the principle of activities was explained to them. The women were regularly checked on week basis during the research to make the therapy more efficient. After two months, the medical examinations were made again and the results were achieved. According to the results of three women, yoga has a positive impact on the psychological behavior. The important indicator of success was the improvement of spine´s flexibility thanks to practicing yoga. Also, the perception of breathing was very convenient therapy for wrong stereotypes of breathing, but to make the exercise efficient it needs to be made regularly and correctly. The bachelor thesis could be used as an educational material for physiotherapist and for general public or for a larger knowledge transfer.
Analyze of Mental Condition Changes as a Result of Yoga Breathing Exercises at adolescent

In my bachelor thesis I deal with the influence of yogic breathing exercises on changes in mental state of adolescents. The aim of this work is to determine whether it is possible to optimize the mental state of adolescents only on the basis of conscious breathing; if deep breathing can be used to eliminate tension and stress. Just to adolescents in today's hedonistic, hectic, bustling age it is laid down a lot of pressure in all aspects. By the intervention program the adolescents are encouraged to be able to use the acquired skills in their daily lives. The research part contains the results of measurement monitored by the device Biofeedback Schulfried and mental state changes using standardized questionnaires STAI. In the final discussion I analyze the results of the study using graphs and tables. It was found that by the influence of breathing exercises the psyche has been harmonized and respiratory rate decreased. The obtained results can be used in health promotion and prevention.
Analyze of mental condition changes as a result of yoga breathing exercises - laboratory investigation

This thesis deals with the changing mental health through yoga breathing exercises. Pranayama breathing exercises deeper breathing and have a great effect on the reduction of psychological stress. The theoretical part describes the importance of mental hygiene, as neuro-psychological stress is part of our everyday life. The aim of this paper is to analyze changes in mental health yoga breathing exercises, deep breathing that contributes to the elimination of tension, whether through breathing, one can better regulate and control their mental states, their overall health. The research section contains the results of laboratory measurements, diagrams and compare changes in respiratory rate and depth because of the way of breathing. The monitoring device was used Schulfried biofeedback, breathing was recorded adolescents and seniors, beginners and advanced who practice yoga according to the system Yoga in Daily Life. Lessons learned can be used in prevention and health promotion.
Analysis of changes to mental condition of women in mid-maturity as the result of yoga breathing exercises.

This bachelor work deals with the influence of yoga breathing exercises on the psyche of women of medium adult age. Thirty women of ages from thirty to forty five years took part in an intervention programme, which is Yoga in daily life. These women have the role of mother, wife, working woman or they are unemployed. Their states of health are various. Some of them feel discomfort in their physical health, some of them in their mental health, some of them in social health. The goal of this work is to optimise the psychic condition by yoga breathing exercise. The intervention programme leads the woman to increasingly feel their body on physical, mental, social and spiritual levels. During the exercises the attention of the trainees is permanently focused on compliance between moves and breathing. At the end of every exercises training of a special breathing exercises, so-called pranajama, was performed and this has a big impact on decreasing psychic tension. In the scientific part of the work observations were made of changes to heart frequency measured by a Sporttester Polar Vantage Night Vision NV ? device and changes to the women?s mental state by means of standardised POMS and STAI questionnaires. In the final discussion the results are analysed and presented in the form of tables and charts. Application of the intervention program caused positive changes in both observed psychosomatic categories. It was discovered that during the yoga breathing exercises the heart frequency decreased and the nervous system became harmonised. The ascertained observations could be utilised in the field of prevention and health support.
